CWI Provider Certification Course - Boston
If you are a new CWI Provider or a Provider who has lapsed for more than 1 year this course is for you. If you are unsure of your status contact us at certification@cwapro.org.All online training will occur the week prior to meeting in person including two separate 2 hour Zoom meeting and a written test.The in person training will be a full 8 hour day at MetroRock Everett in Boston, MA. After completing all online materials and the in-person assessment, certificates will be provided as PDFs by email.
Make sure that you meet all of the prerequisites listed below before enrolling. Failure to meet any of the prerequisites will prevent you from receiving a certification. After enrolling in this course you will be given access to the CWI student manual, CWI Policy documents, and the online course webpage.
The course will open on August 12 and close on August 23rd. Certificates will be provided as PDFs by email following successful completion of the course.

Online learning must be completed by end of the day. There is a written review you must complete.

Pre-Requisites:
- Current membership in the CWA (provider or provider’s employer).
- 21 years of age.
- Current first aid and CPR (for example, American Red Cross Basic - 5.5 to 6.5 hours, or equivalent).
- A résumé or other document showing a minimum of 200 hours of work experience as a climbing instructor, showing expertise in indoor climbing settings.
- Current CWA Certified Climbing Wall Instructor.*
- Two non-related professional references, including contact information and phone number.
- A signed agreement and attestation on file.
- Proof of insurance
NOTE: *If the candidate is not a current CWA Certified Climbing Wall Instructor, the candidate may complete an alternative qualification procedure documenting that the candidate meets the requirements of becoming a provider but showing a minimum of 400 hours of work experience as a climbing instructor. Exceptional and wide-ranging indoor climbing teaching experience, prior experience as an instructor or guide, or other certification will be considered as evidence of qualification. Completion of a provider training course may or may not be required as part of the alternative qualification procedure.
