CWA to Debut Coffee & Collaboration Networking Experience at 2023 CWA Summit

Boulder, Colo., 12/15/2022 - When attendees are asked what the most meaningful moments of the CWA Summit are, many reference the conversations, guidance, and learning opportunities that come from impromptu connections with fellow attendees. These usually occur while attendees are walking through hallways at the conference center or grabbing a beverage, and are sparked by an idea or discussion from a shared session, event, or speaker.  

These moments are vital for members of the indoor climbing industry that are thirsting for more chances to network and collaborate. To help foster connections of this type, the CWA is debuting Coffee & Collaboration, a dynamic networking experience, at the 2023 CWA Summit. This new offering is sure to be a hit, providing those interested a mix of rapid-fire networking, career and business development, and important conversations. 

“We hear so often from our members that they are looking for more chances to network and learn from their peers, and there are so many experienced individuals in our field that want to share their knowledge with the next generation.” says Paula Horwitz, Executive Director of the Climbing Wall Association. “Coffee & Collaboration is designed so that we can inspire and teach the next generation of leaders, innovators, and rockstars to help the indoor climbing industry continue to grow.”

The CWA Summit is designed with sessions, speakers, and events to give members of the indoor climbing industry the knowledge to grow their businesses, learn new skills, and boost their careers. One of the biggest benefits is the knowledge that can be shared when thousands of the top minds in the industry are brought together, and Coffee & Collaboration will help achieve this on a greater scale. 

“We certainly still want to see the spontaneous networking moments occur, but we also want to provide the time and framework to help facilitate even more sharing of knowledge,” says Paula. “Coffee and Collaboration will amplify the opportunities to create even more small group discussion and 1-on-1 connections. We want to be able to provide individuals in this industry even more chances to learn with and from their peers, and to forge connections that last long after the 2023 CWA Summit.” 

Time will be set aside each day of the conference to facilitate this networking, centered around the comfortable idea of chatting with a new friend over a cup of coffee. Initially, attendees will start with a speed networking session, interacting with peers that have similar interests and roles in the industry, but varied experience levels and backgrounds. Attendees will then take part in small group discussions, diving into the topics that matter most and sharing advice. Finally, there will be the opportunity for individuals that forge connections to share 1-on-1 conversations that will spark continued guidance, best practices, and ideally mentor-mentee relationships.
